"A pub general manager in Bury St Edmunds has become one of only 40 people in the world to become a sommelier with The Beer Academy.
Paul Feuer from The Beerhouse on Tayfen Road is now a recognised beer expert.
He can match beers to accompany food, recognise beer defects and, by taste alone, recognise where a beer was made and what style it is."
The results of The Observer Food Monthly Awards 2013 for Best Place to Drink have been announced and we are pleased as punch to have been voted a runner up in the East of England section for the second consecutive year.
"Unique quarter-circular (gables at each end are 90 degrees to each other), brick built Victorian building quite close to the railway station. Previously the Ipswich Arms, it was refurbished in 2010 as an ale focused traditional pub. A new microbrewery in the yard was established in 2011, trading as Brewshed. Eight hand pumps provide a varied selection of well kept real ales plus a further three hand pumps for ciders."
